Sir Albert Einstein had published this theory in 1915. It talks about the concept of gravity. Newton had proved that the gravity exists between two objects and the massive object always attract smaller objects towards itself. He further added that the gravity is an innate force that can act over a distance but he failed to explain the Mercury's revolution and the cause of gravity.
Einstein brought a new thought regarding gravity. He determined that the massive objects cause a distortion in space- time which is felt as gravity.
Space-time is thought as a fabric which can be distorted by heavy masses and cause the fabric to warp (bent). This warpage is regarded as gravity. There is no experimental evidence of this theory but some warping phenomena have been predicted like gravitational lensing, gravitational waves and gravitational redshift.
The theory also deals with the existence of black holes and worm holes in the universe.
The existence of black hole has been proved when the image was taken by Event Horizon Telescope on 10th April 2019. It is named as M87.
The existence of worm hole has not been proven yet but the research is going on. Worm hole is a tunnel with two ends at two separate points in spacetime.
It is predicted that we can travel million of light years through it within less time thus making time travel possible !
